Frogs, Toads & maybe Lizards
Frogs help keep down insect populations as well as share their wonderful songs with you if you listen closely. If you are trying to attract frogs to your garden simply build a frog friendly pond. Look at our build a pond illustration page for details.
Dragonflies and other insects
If you visit a pond or have a pond of your own you will be hard pressed not to find a dragonfly or damselfly on a summer day, darting in a daredevil fashion above the water and through the surrounding landscape. One reason to adore the beautiful dragonfly is they eat the mosquito larvae that live in pond water.
Catapillars and Butterflies
One of the many wonderful benefits of having caterpillars in the garden is their nutrient rich waste. It's garden gold! Caperpillar poop is otherwise known as frass
and it is frasstastic to add to your potting soil. You also get the wonderful gift of your garden caterpillars turning into beautiful butterflies. If you have plants that you don't want caperpillars to bother try planting some parsley, fennel or dill. These plants attract catterpillars and help to keep them away from other plants.
